Declaration of Consciousness Movement draws
inspiration from the teachings of Ayya Vaikunthar. All
of the teachings were essentially that of the ancient
land of Bharat. Nonviolence as Mahatma Gandhiji
mentions, “is a concept as old as the hills.” Women’s
wellbeing has always had a special place in our
country from the reverence of the Divine Feminine.
Respecting our elders is a core foundation for an
unbroken harmonious family. Children’s education and
nurturing has always been the most important parental
responsibility.
Bharat has always welcomed all beliefs, religions and people
from all over the world as honored guests of our land.
Consciousness has been the bed of our society through all
the diversities of different languages, religions, culture
and gender. During 1833 to 1851 Ayya Vaikundar started
India’s historic most successful social revolution that
challenged and resolved the caste system and brought all
religions, communities and castes together. Ayya was called
the Avatar of Lord Vishnu by all his followers as he demolished
thousands of years of social inequalities, championed women’s
rights and revival of essence of Sanathana Dharma Hinduism-
to know our God Goddess Absolute Named and Nameless Source
within. The centerpiece of the altar at home and shrines
was- a Lamp to symbolize our inner Light alight and a mirror
that reflects that Divinity rests within ourselves. Currently,
there are more than 20 million Ayya path followers who
celebrate coexistence with all religions and no caste or
community identity.
In Dec 2022, Ayya Balaprajapathi Adigalar, the current head of the Ayya path and Nandhiji endorsed and announced the Declaration of Consciousness Movement through India starting in Ayya Vaikunda's village Swamithoppu. To date over a thousand villages have adopted it. Launching the Declaration of Consciousness Movement at Swamithoppu village near Kanyakumari- the symbolic and historic southernmost tip of India sets in motion this movement to move powerfully throughout India and the World.
